Tasting note
So much comfort derives from knowing the Elevation from St. Urban will always arrive early. Clean and beyond functional but straight away a sign of vintage-related middle-of-the-road. There is no make me wanna shout but there is a most comforting high-level feeling of copacetic riesling perfection. Neither exceptional in aridity or sweet dreams, the Elevation '15 is a factored product of one and the other, marked by the year's passive-conservative and gregarious-liberal acidity. Drinks so well now, will do so for many years, evolve and revolve with less oscillation and not likely dissipate at any time along the way. On St. Urban I will quote this. 'Day to day, man that's the only way. They gon' know my name until it fade away.' Riesling logic. Drink 2016-2022. Score - 90. (Michael Godel, winealign.com, Nov. 30, 2016)
Our land speaks clearly in this balanced wine with notes of wet river rock, slate and limestone. Wonderful citrus notes with white peach and a hint of apricot draw you in. On the palate the structure is pure elegance with a refreshing acid-sweetness balance.
